Hello! i have a friend whos laptop runs really slow and ram always at 99%. She says her computer slows down and sometimes even black screen for several seconds before coming back to normal.
Can you guys help me find good ram replacement for her laptop please :)

Hp Laptop 14
Device name Laptop-6DRCDNLK
Processor-intel core i3-8130u cpu 2.20GHz
installed ram- 4GB
Device id- 86460622-3699-4824
64 based windows.

64 based windows.
Can you elaborate on that? Is it Windows 10? If so, please mention the version(not edition) of the OS. As for your laptop, can you check and see what the BIOS version for said laptop is?

Per her laptop, you might want to ask her to run the serial number of the laptop into their support portal here to bring up a page bespoke to the laptop in question. As for the ram suggestion, we're going to need it's SKU since I can't find anything pertaining to that Device Name laptop ID.

Sorry didnt see the replies.
Ill ask for more detailed information when i see them tonight.
I just took a picture of her stats before and this are the numbers i see for now.
Product id- 00356-02035-27521-AAOEM
device id- B6460622-3699-4824-B657-F6649FFd1B3D
i would guess windows 10, since rarely do i see anyone using 7 or others. but ill check.

get at least 8GB stick for the replacement. i would drop in 16GB myself. with that laptop go to Crucial.com and run their program to detect compatible ram. i did that for my similar HP laptop and it worked like a charm

HP Notebook - 14-df0023cl Product Specifications | HP® Customer Support
4 GB DDR4-2400 SDRAM (1 x 4 GB) is what you have, you take out old SODIMM RAM and replace with an 8gb model, that would probably solve the issue. if not, you have other windows issues.

i get my ram from here
Crucial US | DRAM, Solid State Drive (SSD) & Memory Upgrades

Thank you for that information, when i go see her tonight ill run her laptop with that site.
I guess going from 4gb to 8gb is easy to understand why upgrade, but in lame terms if you know can you tell me whats the numbers mean in ram description just for my own understanding, incase i also explain to her.

its Double Data Rate (DDR4-2400) 1200Mhz per channel, so 2x1200=2400Mhz

it's just the speed of the ram
thank you, also you said at least 8Gb, i watched a video that stated the laptop is only able to take 8Gb max, the proccesor and the chip are limited.
Can you confirm that please, i know some info online is not always correct.
This is the video i am refering to

He says it at 50-55 seconds.
Just dont want to buy her 16 gb if it wont work, thanks again.
laptop is only used for work, video calls , not gaming.

Solved: How much ram can I put in an HP Notebook - 14-df0023cl ? - HP Support Community - 6916131

so you can put two 8GB sticks in. If you do, by them as a SET from Crucial. that means both come together in one package. Don't buy them one at a time. This ensures they work together at 2400Mhz speed.

You have two slots available.

I am ordering ram today, and i also googled since the video above didnt mention 2 slots and after googling it says
1 Slot

How many total memory slots to install memory? The Laptop has 1 Slot to install memory, already with 4GB standard memory installed. For best 14-df0013cl Laptop performance use the maximum amount of 8GB, fill all the slots with the max allowed memory per slot for your Laptop.
Can you confirm?
