Laptop restarts after being awoken from sleep after new update

I recently updated windows 10 and ever since, every time I close my laptop lid, the computer restarts upon being awoken. But this problem isn't limited to sleep from the laptop lid, if I manually go to the power options in the start menu and hit sleep, then wake my laptop up again, it still restarts. I have used system restore to try to fix this but nothing has helped.

EDIT: So I checked my event viewer, and it seems that everyone I close the laptop lid, the computer is already shutting down unexpectedly (as if i had held down the power button), but strangely, it turns on again whenever I raise the lid.

This could be a victim of the Windows Hibernation fiasco. Go into c:\windows\system32 and right click on the file cmd.exe then select RunAs Administrator.

A black form shows up and at the Command Prompt, type
powercfg hibernate off
then hit Enter.

Type exit to close the form then restart the machine. That might do the trick.

Unforunately, it didn't work. Also, I forgot to mention this in the original post, but my computer is very slow at startup ever since this has happened.

What didn't work? The turning off of hibernation or the it turned off but didn't fix the problem?
