Question Laptop screen going black/sleep momentarily. The system is entering Modern Standby Reason: Lid.

Hey guys,
I have a massive problem with my 10 month old Acer swift go 14 13700H

The screen will momentarily go black for a few seconds and then wake up, other times it will simply fall asleep for a few seconds, this happens most commonly when i enter the league of legends client but happens at random times too. The cpu will also sky rocket temps to critical levels very quickly at random times despite only being 20-30% utilization.

This is the notification i get on event viewer.
The system is entering Modern Standby Source: Kernel Power
Reason: Lid.

I have tried absolutely everything, disabling panel self refresh, cleaning the laptop, resetting to factory settings, but it just keeps happening.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you checked to see if your laptop is pending any BIOS updates?

You state performing a factory reset, did the OS come installed from the factory? Maybe you could reinstall the OS in offline mode, after backing up all mission critical data.

It was pending a BIOS update, but after i updated it the screen still randomly blacks out.
The OS came from factory ;/
