Laptop suddenly unable to connect to wifi other devices fine.

Firstly sorry if this is the wrong place. I was using the Internet fine lastnight switched on my acer laptop this morning and wasnt connected to the router. I tried connecting but it just fails. I'm still able to connect with my iPad and iPod. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the network adapter however this fails to successfully install. I've searched for hours but can't find a solution. I'm also unable to reset the router etc because I live in china and the router is in a roommates room whose door is locked. Thanks

hi thanks, I tried using it at a friends house and connected wirelessly without any problems. Reset the router at my place and it's still the same. When I try to resolve it it says the network adapter is not fixed. Anyone have any advice?
