I've had my laptop for a while now, and the entire time I've owned it, it's had problems connecting to the internet. But not all internet, for some reason it has issues only with my home WiFi, if I go to a friends place it works great, and all other computers and devices connect to my home internet fine. Why is this happening?

Solution
log in to your router management page and try experimenting with the settings,

mainly: channel (change between 1,6,&11)

(you can use the free program "INSSIDER" to help decide which channel is best.
Change operating mode between B/G/N and just G/N

In the case of wireless N there are more options such as channel width.

Sometimes it is worth trying setting the encryption to open or WPA as a test, but dont leave it like this.
Check to make sure the router doesn't have MAC address blocking - it may be denying your laptop.

Its also worth checking there is not an IP address conflict - IE, two devices attempting to use the same IP.
