Laptop will not connect to network when away from home

I recently had AT&T DSL installed in my home and subsequently I installed a Linksys wireless router. It works perfectly, no problems. (while at home). The problem I have is when I go mobile with my laptop away from home, it will not connect to another wireless network although the signal is strong. Any ideas or suggestions?

Could it have something to do with a PPPOE and DHCP conflict or a late version of linksys IP address?

what are your network card setting IPv4. You will find it under the Properties for your network card.

Both IP and DNS Server should be set to obtain automatically. Make sure you have no IP numbers typed in.
