Hi all,
I work in a music academy where we have an "old" Fujitsu Siemens Lifebook C13220D laptop.
Running Windows XP Pro SP3.
It has two DRAM slots which are DDR2-PC4200-533MHz. Also, on the motherboard, at the memories location it's written 1.8 volts.
We had only 1x512MB and the maximum allowed is 2x1GB.
Motherboard is Fujitsu FJNB1A1 CP251072-02.
So i bought 2x1GB Corsair memories.
Model : VS1GSDS533D2/EU G

There it says 1.8 volts.
However when i follow the "memory upgrade tool" on their website, for the laptop, it says: that these memories are 2.2 volts... and when i click on the image it again says 1.8 volts...

Anyway, here is the thing: after putting these 2x1GB sticks, the laptop wouldn't boot at all. Nothing on the screen, no BIOS loading, nothing. Only the fan could be heard.
After retrying a few times it did work and everything worked great. Windows running well and recognizing 2GB of RAM.
But if i switch off the computer and try again to switch it on after some time, again it won't boot and will need several tries to boot. Then again ok.
The BIOS has no option for changing voltages or timings. The BIOS (which I updated) is Phoenix Technologies v.1.12
Also, when I run specs tools (speccy, AIDA32, CPU-Z), they all report 266 MHz for the ram sticks, instead of 533! and on the SPD tab there is no information at all. The fields are grey.
Do you you have any idea what could I do to solve the booting problem?

Rated FSB: 532.06Mhz (changing a little bit as time goes)
Another interesting info is that on another laptop of exact same model, i put 2x512 MB ram of the original sticks and the specs tools also report 266 MHz instead of 533. I think they couldn't be wrong all of them.. weird that the wrong info appears also with the original sticks though.. could it be that the motherboard doesn't report well? Also why is the SPD info blank?
Any help would be very welcome.
