Question Laptop wont boot up after ram upgrade..

Had 2x4 2400 mhz rams and my mobo supports max 2400 mhz, wanted to upgrade rams to 16gigs, purchased crucial 3200 mhz CL22 dual channel kit thinking it would downclock and work at 2400 mhz like so many people said to me, but after installing new rams my laptop wont boot up, i can see rams in bios, it says 16 gigs working in dual channel but its still shown as 3200 instead of 2400, sometimes it boots but freeze in password screen, what should i do? if i insert the old rams, it boots again

BTW does the new RAM voltage match the old RAM voltage (like 1.2V, 1.35V)?

Yep they are both 1.2V, i think rams are fine it just my system refuses to downclock the rams, is there anything i can do about that? Like can i force them to run at 2400 mhz ?

Same story, this time it says 8 gb single channel 3200 mhz, i mean ofc i cant be %100 sure about that but i think ram kit is fine

Some laptops are fussy regarding RAM upgrades.

Is there any difference between the old and new RAM apart from size and speed, e.g. dual rank, single rank.

Is the kit you fitted shown as being compatible with your laptop on the Crucial web site?
