I have an ASUS laptop running windows 8 it wont connnect to my home wifi, hotspot or school internet, i had taken it to the store of purchase a few days ago as the laptop had been starting up slowly so they did a reset and i took it back to them today as it wouldnt connect to the wifi but it had connected to their wifi when the man tried it so i took it home and it wont connect is their a way i could resolve this issue also it connects through the internet adaptor

Thank You

Im sorry i wasnt clear i mean my laptop sees the wifis available but isnt able to connect it only connected at the store i purchased it from as i tried today the man connected to see and it worked but it wont connect any where else, when i try and connect it says can't connect to this network and i had done the troubleshooting and the problems found: you have no preffered wireless networks

So your laptop is looking for a preferred network to connect... It should connect to your network when you click on it and then click Connect... check the "automatic connect" option so it autoconnects to your network
Also what kind of security do you have on your router? i know there is a security that ask you to click a button on your router in order to accept connection, otherwise it will just fail to connect.

Yeah i tried connecting and i have connect automatically ticked

Also what do you mean by security i normally connect without having to do anything with the router

hmmm can you make screenshots both of the error you get and the visible networks

by security i mean just what i said... some routers have this little button which you have to press when you are trying to connect you your wifi... else it will just not connect you

I already know how to connect its simple i get it but thats not what the issue is I connect it thousands of times ut says vertifying network then it says can't connect to this network

That is the issue, it wont connect no matter how many times i have tried

I'm hazing the same exact problem! And I understand exactly what you're saying. I also have an ASUS! It's so frustrating because I have an online class but I can't connect to my Internet at all!
It used to always so 'limited connection' and whenever I went to my parents house, it would connect but disconnect often. Now I'm back in my parents home, for a while it would act the same as always, continuously disconnecting, but suddenly for about a month, it connect liu to the wifi perfectly fine, it never went down, but just last week it went back to how it used to be, continuously disconnecting, just yesterday it would connect but as soon as I hit reload on a tab on the Internet it would immediately disconnect. And pretty soon it just stopped connecting at all. the Internet connects when the network cord is plugged directly in, but other than that. Now my wifi doesn't work at all and it's horrible.

Get someone to help you. If it won't connect then you haven't put in the SSID and passphrase.

I did i have done all that multiple times i know how to do it all it just wont connect it says can't connect to this network every detail is correct it just wont connect

I am researching but i figured to also make a forum for people to answer who may know what to do

I have sent en email to asus and im going to reset my laptop after i update the items i need to and see what happens

Reboot the modem, the router and the notebook before trying to connect again.

If the notebook cannot connect to the router, than the issue is either with the notebook, or the router. Therefore, see if other devices (can use a phone or tablet) can connect to the router. If they have issues also, than the problem is the router. If everything else connects, than it is the notebook.

If we get it down to the notebook, than look for an updated wifi driver on the Asus website. If still cannot connect, than get a USB WiFi Adapter that can bypass whatever hardware failure that has befallen the Asus.

If the issue is the router, look for a firmware upgrade. If it persists, than you need a new one.
