Question Laptop won't output to digital projector

I have a laptop with only HDMI output and a projector with only VGA input. I have bought an active HDMI/VGA converter.
Output from projector simply reads Analog RGB Out of Range.
I've tried reducing the PC display output to 800x600 resolution, to no effect.
Any ideas please?

Lenovo laptop, Windows 10, Radeon Vega 8 graphics card, HDMI output.
Benq MP511 projector, VGA input.
Benfei HDMI to VGA, Benfei Gold-Plated HDMI to VGA Adapter (Male to Female) from Amazon

You need to remove this one since you already have a reply on the other. If you're just trying to get focus back on it then add a Reply and it will bump up.

Understood. I was just trying to get a further reply, as the first one didn't solve the problem.
