I have an Lenovo Ideapad Z570 laptop with Windows 10 Pro 64 bit.

So basically, when the laptop shuts down automatically, it goes through the whole "Windows is shutting down" process, then the screen turns off but the LEDs on are still on. I then have to hold the power button to shut it off manually.

This problem is driving me crazy! And I've tried Windows 7 and it still did the same thing. I accidentally installed a 32 bit version of Windows 7 a while back and I thought the problem was fixed because it was shutting down just fine... A little while later I realized I had installed a 32 bit version of the OS. So when I reinstalled to a 64 bit OS the problem was back.

Please, if you have any ideas of a solution please let me know! I've had this problem for a while now it's driving me crazy, I can't put my laptop into Sleep mode, hibernate, or shut down. It all has the same problem.

Thanks in advance to any help.

Hi I had the same problem with the same laptop Lenovo z570 (20095 this is written on the bottom side of the laptop) .
I have spent 7 hours to figure it out.

After I tried several time the “ disable fast start- up option”
And after installing 7 different drivers for intel management engine interface.
After each time I have to restart the computer and after fails and fails I hade to turn it off by
Holding the power button.
After that I have decide to update the BIOS. [THIS RESOLVED THE PROBLEM]

Before taking these steps CHECK YOU CURRENT BIOS VERSION AND WRITE IT DOWN
Go to system info and under bios version red the version (mine was 45CN34WW)
Went to the Lenovo website
1.https://support.lenovo.com/hr/en/
2. scroll down to the bottom and under Resources you will see Driver & Software downloads click Get downloads
3. Pop up apereas , enter you model
4. You will have the list of all available downloads for you product
5. Under BIOS/UEFI expand it and you will see the bios file, download it ( one file is bios and other is the read me instructions on how to flash your bios ( I suggest that you read it)
6. After your downloaded the bios , restart the computer ( turn if off and on again holding the button)
7. After restart go to the downloaded file and double click it , and install it( don’t touch anything while the bios is flashing just let it finish) , it will say that the computer needs to restart, click ok.
8. Now your computer will try to restart, and when it goes black screen but the lights are still on (volume and power bottom etc..) wait a bit (I.E 3-4 minutes, just wait, this is very important in this step) just to make sure that you are in “sleep mode”, then press and hold the power button to shut down the windows.
9.Start the computer now and go to system info and check the bios version if it is the one you downloaded ( for me the new version vas 45CN38WW) , and not the one you had previously, you have flashed the new bios version.
Now restart the commuter ( normally it should restart or shut down on its own, FINALY !!!!!!)

10: (if it works don’t do this step) Boot into bios (on start up hit F2, the enter the BIOS) , once in bios click F9 to load defaults , hit yes, and then F10 to save and exit .
11. The shut down or restart should work properly now . !
