Question Last intel macbook pro 16" vs modern laptop like HP Vitus 16.1" or other alternative

Both my DIY desktop (12 year old) and laptop (7 years) are getting really old. More problematic, my grapic card (shoe box is a better description) is fried.

I am now considering what to get as replacement: an old macbook pro or a new , as my nephew would say, "el Cheapo" laptop.

1) Macbook Pro 16" late 2019: Intel i9 2.4 GHz 8-core, 1TB SSD, 32 RAM, AMD Radeon Pro 5500M, four TB-3 ports, checked and sold by an apple repair shop I know long time. Can handle two or more extended external desktops.
Price 900 EUR.

2) HP Vitus 16.1", GeForce RTX™ 4050 (6 GB) - 1920 × 1080 px - Intel Core i5-13500H processor (12-core - up to 4.7 GHz) - 512 GB SSD storage - 16 GB RAM - 1× HDMI 2.1 - 1× USB-C - 3× USB 3.2 - Bluetooth 5.3 - Wi-Fi 802.11ax - numeric keypad - backlit keyboard - Price normally 1 100 EUR, now Black Firrday for 800 EUR.

3) DIY new desktop will almost certainly go well over these prices, which is my budget top.

Any recommendations which would be the better buy?

Any better alternatives in this spec-price range?

Please beware I am living in the Czech Republic, so discounts in homedepot or Amazon USA do not help me much, but I can look up what a recommended laptop costs.

The MbP has a 16:10 ratio retina screen which I love (much better than most other laptop screens) and it is better for my eyes (strong glasses, with strong cylinder) and all the other specs are perfect in the sweet spot. It also is the last MAc with bootcamp: I mostly use windows software.

The HP Vitus has been described as a good buy when you can get a discount.

The modern i5 is better than the older i9, but I doubt if I will notice the difference since my old i7 is still working good enough. Most of the time, I do not need that much power anyway. However, I occasionally do video editing (Adobe Premiere Pro CS6, the last stand-alone version), work a lot with photo's, always have between 20-40 tabs open in my browsers, etc.

And I love a very quick and silent computer.

Size and weight is no problem, I mostly will use this as my desktop replacement (alternatively used as home office and in our NGO visitor's centers). For real traveling I use my 2017 Macbook Air 13". Good enough for on the road.

For 900 euros get an apple silicone Mac like a base M1/M2 air. Do not get an Intel Mac now. For a start the i7 in my old model overheated never mind an i9 and the battery life was poor. They’re also moving on the end of life and I would put money on them not seeing more than two more OS updates. They might not even get next years.

I would love to spend money on the M1 or M2. Unfortunately, the new macs no longer can run bootcamp, and almost all my stuff is windows stuff including bought stand-alone software like Abobe Premier Pro CS6 and 10 Windows Office licenses. So that is not an option.
