questions: manual replacement of files/programs involving window appearances
& appearances of taskbar, task manager & start menu appearances. can
programs/files involved with mentioned windows xp os appearances be replaced
manually with uncorupted versions of above mentioned programs/files copied
manually from hp pavilion 7905/win xp home edition system recovery CD's which
i have? if so,how can this be done? I tried using control panel, system
restore & tried creating new administrator acoount to change xp arrearances
from classic to default to no avail.

Hi,

Look on the system itself for an I386 folder to copy the files from. This is
the store of original system files placed by the HP setup routine. The
restore CD's likely just contain an image of the system and individual file
extraction is not usually supported.

What exactly is the problem that you think you need to replace corrupted
files?
