I got a realtek update a few days ago, and now my headphone jack doesn't work. Dell N5030 onboard speakers work fine. I have tried several headphone and speaker sets, just to verify it is the jack. It is.

This happened sometime back, on a previous update, then corrected itself on the next update some weeks later. I have looked everywhere for a setting to disable/enable the earphone jack, but cannot find one. All prompts say realtek is working properly.

Solution
Go in to Device Manager and roll back the driver under the 'Driver' tab of the device.

Never update a driver if existing one is working okay. It is not mandatory to install the latest version!
