We have a live NT 4.0 server with service pack 6a and
every previous update until 4/12/04.

After doing the updates KB831167, KB835732 and KB828741
the server crashed with NTKernel error.

Has anyone else had this problem? We aren't sure which
one of these did it but we aren't trying it again.

The only problem I had was with the Blaster fix... after
loading it, I realized it was not the right one for my NT4
server running MS Proxy 2!

All other updates have worked for me. I am still running
a NT4 domain with all my servers at SP6a.

I installed the patches now our server is in an infinite loop and will not boot up. How did you resole your issue?

I'm having the same problem with the infinite loop. Any
help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I'm a LAN Admin at a very large organization. We have had
internal warnings of sites where this occured. The
corrective action was to copy the NTOSKRNL.EXE file from
the $NtUninstallKB835732$ folder (the hidden backout Dir)
INTO \Winnt\System32. You can do this easily by booting
from a Windows 2000 install disk (even the 90-day ones
that come with the training classes) and selecting
Recovery Console.

No cases of this on my 20-odd servers, but 4 cases out of
70-some NT4 Workstations.
