Hi,
this is in regards to the diy projector article they put up a year ago (http://www.tomshardware.com/howto/20041201/index.html) and I was wondering what LCDs are best to be used on this. I really have no experience with LCD monitors and their response time etc etc.

If any of you have tried the projector thing, please let me know because i'm definitely going to do this :D

Anyone know if DELL monitors can be used or taken apart easily? They're the cheapest in the market and it'll be best if a dell can be used.

And the sign says "You got to have a membership card to get inside" Huh
So I got me a pen and paper And I made up my own little sign</pre><p></font color=red>

From the majority of post I have read it is a waste of time and money.

But to come up with a really cool hologram display, now I do not think that would be a waste...But suppose programs would then have to be 3D themselves. Wait, what about 3D games, maybe and extension could translate them into 3d hologram!

Rich, you know only pros like ourselves could build one with a hologram display. For anyone else it would be a waste of money. So who are you going to display first?

I'm also looking at this project - I haven't seen much in the way of this being a waste. Anyone completed this with success? If so, which LCD's give long enough cables and have the inputs needed for computer and video (vga, dvi, video, & s-video).

On top of that, which projectors work will for it? I've noticed a number of projector get real dim at the edges and have hotspots in the middle of the projection.

Thanks for the input!
