[SOLVED] Led won't turn off

Hey guys
Lately for some reason when ever I turn off my PC I there Is a red light that stays on, partly on the parts of the fans and MB
Ill add a pic, if anyone have any idea how to sort It out will appricate

I have a windows 10
An asus TUF MB
FANS by antec

You most likely have 'fast-startup' enabled. Check your motherboard's BIOS settings to see if the option is available and disable it, fast startup usually keeps your computer in standby mode even if you 'shutdown'.

Also check if fast startup is enabled in windows, follow this video:

Have you by any chance had your pc in a different location so that only now you can see the led's on the mobo.
This might seem a silly question but it is not.
Modern mobo's have pulsing lights working when the pc is turned off indicating they are using power from the main , this means that even with the pc off you can use usb sockets to charge phones and tablets.

I had this problem after I built my daughters pc. There should be a setting in bios, i cant remember the exact setting but was under advanced-onboard device config-rgb on/off, or something along those lines.

Tried it, didn't help still lights up

No I didn't same place from when I got it 🙂


I'll also mention that even If I unplug It, the PC lights still stays on

If you unplug, there's residual power left in the psu. The lights won't go out for a few seconds. But eventually you'll hear/feel a click from the psu and everything will shut off.

Yes I guess so, one night I took the plug out and woke up in the morning and still it was on, it was really weird, you have any solution?

Any labels, markings, or codes on the Red LED's to identify them?

Which Asus motherboard?

For example (taking a guess) I found the following User Manual link:

Reference physically numbered Page 1-8

Red LED = CPU

And there are also red leds on the fans - correct?

Double check all connections per the manual.

Do verify that the manual I found is correct. If not correct, then search accordingly.

It's not the motherboard the mainly lights up
It's the fans, I don't mind about the MB

are you using any specific software to control LEDs?
or using a hardware controller; a remote, front I\O switch, or button controller?

do these fans have separate RGB cables connected to a controller or the motherboard
or are they just static red LED?

In bios is a setting for the Aura leds. One is for just mobo leds, one for the RGB and one I believe shuts everything off.
