Left 4 dead 2 freezes in 9400gt

Yesterday i brought Left 4 dead 2,i installed the game finely,but when i try to launch it,it launches fine but stops at the loading screen.In the readme file it was written that i should pause and return to the desktop by clicking Alt + Tab,i did it too then starts the game,and after playing one or two minutes it completely freezes at a certain point,my pc meets all the specs require to play the game,here are my pc's specs:
Processor= Dual core @ 2.60GHZ
Ram=2GB
Graphics Card=Gigabyte Nvidia GeForce 9400GT 1GB
Dvd-Rom=18x ASUS
Cd-Rom=52x ASUS
Power Supply=400W
Hard Disk Drive=320GB
Stereo=Headphone
Operating System=Windows XP Service Pack 3 updated from SP 2
i don't think u need any more information.Remember i was playing single player no multiplayer.

but it's up to date it is 10/7/2008 and the driver version is 6.14.11.7824.and i brought it few days ago

did you use driver that come with the package? if so go directly to nvidia site and download the latest one. or go here:

yeah i used the one came with the package.But the driver is huge for my slow 128kbs connection to download(88.5MB)
Ok OK OK should i use driver scanner to detect my drivers?don't worry my driver scanner is the full version it can detect and either download the driver for me.

Anyways 9400GT isn't a very powerful card to handle L4D2 on medium to high settings! Get a bigger RAM. 2GB ain't enough for games days. Also PSU brand?

try using download accelerator to download the latest driver. given your connection speed it will take time but you can resume anytime using download accelerator

What is PSU,i brought such a low end pc because my budget was too low about $350,but still my pc can play all the games at the highest settings like l4d2,bionic commando,san andreas,medal of honor 4 and etc

PSU would be Power Supply Unit or also known as SMPS.

In my COUNTRY computer parts ain't so costly,the core i7 costs only $365,core i5 only $265,and dual core costs guess what!!! only $75

The question is not what your PSU supplies or what your PC needs. Its about brand, reliability plus the efficiency of the PSU.

Woah there! This could be a problem! Most casings come bundled with a third grade, substandard PSU, even if the cases are from cooler master (which are generally bundled with CM Extreme Power series of PSU's, which are ready made time bombs). A bad PSU may lead to problems like burnt circuits, burnt motherboards, dead RAM's, brunt GPU's and whole lot of other monsters. Advice: Change PSU as soon as possible.

I have another problem,the problem is when in the start up a pop up window opens says to install the monitor driver but i lost it what do i do?could it be the problem for left 4 dead 2 freezing?

im downloading the nvidia driver 195.62,is it safe?will it crash my gpu?i mean to say that my manufacturer is gigabyte and i m downloading nvidia's driver,anyway dap say it will take 30 more minutes

i have downloaded the driver and installed it,but it still freezes,looks like there is nothing anyone can do,i lost my hope and my 150 bucks and the trust on modern games,i won't buy any games cd anymore,because nothing in the world can make me satisfy,i argued with my parents to buy me a pc and got this piece of *** that can play nothing.now it seems all the dreams are drowned 1000 feet under water.but thanks a ton guys for your kind responds i really appreciate it,and if there is anything to fix these freezing problem please email me at awesomesoccerfan@gmail.com or give answers here.
