Question Left side of graphics card does not slide into the PCIe slot properly ?

Hi, I purchased a prebuilt pc and it came with the gpu uninstalled.
When I try to install the gpu, it's right side locks in but left side is a bit high. It can't go down because of the metal panel that has the screws.
The lock on the right side of the pcie slot locks and makes a click sound. But left side does not go in and is visibly further away from the motherboard compared to the right.
What may be the problem, is it something that I can fix at home?

Not sure I am getting this correct, but I think the metal plate with screws needs to be unscrewed, then the card should fit in, then screw the plate back on. It is thee to help hold that (and any other add on cards) in place.
