Hello, today I opened my ThinkPad T60 battery pack and I noticed brownish stuff under li-ion heat shrink. Should I throw the battery away?

Not really - in the sense of handling it as chemical waste. It must not go into your waste bin.
Yes - it would most certainly be dead and would quickly harm the battery compartment.

Yes if the stuff you found is actually coming out of the battery, and it's not just something else that spilled on it then a new battery is in order.

Certainly get rid of the battery if it is leaking.
