Question Lenovo Flex 3-1480 flashing screen with low battery message

Lenovo Flex 3-1480 has flashing screen with low battery message, I bought a new charger but still the same problem. Should I buy a new battery, or could it be the display is shot? Any advice much appreciated. Thanks.

Does the display flash when power is connected?

Yes it does, and I bought a new adapter, it's still saying low battery also
