Hi everyone,

Right now I have a Lenovo K450 with an LGA 1150 i5-4430, but I really want to upgrade the CPU to an i7-4790k. I know that they both have the same socket, so no problem there, however, I am a little hesitant on the BIOS. My version now is I1KT24AUS, and I know I can't overclock through the BIOS, so I was planning on doing it through Intel's XTU. I just wanted to know if anyone could tell me whether or not this upgrade will work and if the CPU is compatible with that BIOS, or if anyone has done it. Thanks a lot!

No i haven’t done it personally. That chip will work in that motherboard but it will not overclock. Overclocking always goes back to the bios even with software overclocking.
