Hi. Guys:

I need your help here. A year ago I purchased a refurbished lenove T410. I liked it very much until recently I wanted to restore it to the factory condition, I then encountered error message: 0xc000000f. Since it is a refurbished one, I do not have the window disk and could not fix the error message. It was around thanksgiving time, so I bought an 256G ssd. I swapped out the old hdd with new ssd. I also did a clean window installation, with the image file I got from online, and used the code from the back of my computer. Now I am having the difficult on connect internet. My network adapter is

Intel(R) 82577LM Gigabit Network Connection
version is 11.13.51.0

Could anyone give me a simple tutorial on the networking, regarding connecting Lenovo?

I am very green on internet connection, never figured out all those difficult, constant changing professional terms of networking.

Thanks.

Dan

I see a couple of concerns:

1) Where, online, did you get a Wndows image? You have no control of the quality or security of such "images".

2) Assuming a valid Windows image/install the next item would be ensuring that you have the correct drivers for your network adapter. The drivers should be downloaded from the manufacturer and matched to your OS.

May not be a Lenovo problem per se.

It appears that you are using a built in network adapter. Go to Intel's website to find the drivers and installation instructions.

Then you will need to configure the Lenovo, via the network adapter, to join your network. Whoever manages the network and network router should be able to help with that part of the process.

Hi. Ralston:

I got win7_pro_sp1 from online sharing and I used the ID on the back of my refurbished T410. I did the factory restore for T410 before and after restore, I remember I had to active the window 7 by typing in the ID.

For the current 'clean' installation of win7, after I keyed in the ID, it was installed correctly. I also searched Lenove forums, it seems that as long as I could get online, then I could update the all drivers through a header program: ThinkVantage. So it is now back to square one, I could not get online.

I did downloaded the driver from Lenovo (Intel(R) 82577LM Gigabit Network Connection), but the internet icon does not show the name of my internet. I did a test of my other computer, by turning off the wireless, connecting it through a cable, it shows up internet immediately. Back to my T410, I also saw the internet icon, while I click it, it showed "Broadband Connection". My previous correct connection with the other computer showed the name I give to the network. After I clicked into that, it gave me a small window and asking me the name and password, even though I did not think it was correct, I typed in my network name and the password I set for wireless connection. It failed.

So to summarize, I swapped out the HDD for a SSD, install win7_pro from online sharing with typing in the windows7 ID on the back of my computer. Installed the Network drive from lenovo, could not get wire connection to internet.

Thanks for your help.
