Solution jay_nar2012 Jun 20, 2014 I would recommend upgrading the RAM before considering a CPU upgrade. Your laptop has two RAM slots that can handle a total of 8GB RAM (2x4GB) Your laptop supports 2 x PC3-8500/PC3-10600 non-parity DDR3 SODIMM sticks. More info can be found here (including CPU support) - http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/detail.page?LegacyDocID=MIGR-73415 EDIT: Your laptop should be able to support the i3, i5 and i7 CPUs or any others that are PGA988/989 out of the list provided by lenovo.
