Good morning and sorry for my bad english! : /

I bought a LG 29um58-p monitor and connected it to a GTX 1060 6GB
I used the HDMI cable of the new monitor.
When you turn on the PC, the monitor displays a message that says:
"The resolution is in 1920x1080p, the recommended resolution is 2560x1080px60hz"

I changed the HDMI cable and used one of type 2.0 ... and the same message still appears.

With the control panel nVidia..the resolution is shown in 2560x1080px60hz
With the Windows (8.1) control panel... the resolution is shown in 2560x1080px60hz

Why then does that erroneous message of resolution appear when the PC is turned on?

My PC:
Evga GTX 1060 6GB
Asus GRYPHON Z87
Intel Core i5 4670K
GSkill DDR3 16GB
NZXT HALE82 N Series 750w

Regards!

OFF: I know that the resolution can be set to 75Hz and the monitor supports it perfectly.

...but in 2560x1080p 75Hz , monitor shows the same message :??:
"The resolution is in 1920x1080p, the recommended resolution is 2560x1080px60hz"

With the joystick button on the monitor, I can choose "do not show this message again"

Maybe it's a default message, regardless of the resolution that you choose :??:

possibly. it is not like anything bad will happen.

my school hs 4k monitors but hdmi cables and rns them at 1440p 60

Yes 😉
