LG-34UC89G-B Hardware recommendations

Hi, I've been eyeing this monitor the past week: https://www.lg.com/us/monitors/lg-34UC89G-B-ultrawide-monitor and I'm wondering If i should get a new CPU (and motherboard, ram etc...) or whether my current i7-4790 (non k) will be sufficient for at least 144 hz? I plan on upgrading my GTX 970 to the next xx70 or xx80 GPU from Nvidia as well, once they release and I have the funds.

The 4790 will be sufficient, the only thing you'll need to update is your GPU.

Also be sure to use Displayport so you can get the 144hz/166hz OC.
