I recently purchased a very economic LG E2770 monitor (well a couple of months ago) initially just for work, but have been playing CS:GO and would like to change the refresh rate. I know LCD's standard have 60hz but from what I can read there is 2 technologies which can assist, but I have no idea what they are and resources online appears to be limited.
The monitor has an option for "Thru Mode" which I leave enabled, and then there is an IPS Panel (which appears to show a quarter of the screen via a different input.
Are any of these 2 technologies relevant to what I'm looking for (120hz or at least anything more than 60hz) or should I bite the bullet and start saving for a 3d monitor?
