[SOLVED] LGA 1150 - Performance hit with Spectre / Meltdown mitigations?

Friend plays & twitch streams Valorant on 1080p w/ Intel Xeon E3-1241V3 / 16GB DDR3 / GTX 750 Ti.

The Asus B85M-G motherboard has the original BIOS, and I'm wonder which of the three BIOS' should be updated to. Version 25012015/08/17 would be "current enough" but not include spectre / meltdown mitigations. Version 36022018/04/09 would include the Intel mitigations, but performance would take a hit

Question: (1) which of the shown BIOS should the motherboard be updated to? (2) How significant would the performance hit be to gaming / streaming, if the latest update with the mitigations is installed?

What are you trying to achieve with the BIOS update?
Generally speaking, if it's not broke, don't fix it.

As for the impact, typically a couple of % in the simplest sense.
Will depend on the specific CPU, workload etc.... So it's not quite as simple as X% off the top.

Barty1884 My goal is to institute best practices: Updated BIOS and chipset drivers. However, I will will seriously consider your advice about not fixing that which is not broken. Thank you.
