Hey guys, so lately i've been getting tons of components together for an ultimate pc build. So, im sorta done but ive just been stuck on motherboards and cpus. I was looking into getting this mother and cpu combo.
Motherboard: http://bit.ly/NxB5Ap
CPU: http://bit.ly/JROuie

Now, I was thinking this was great an all but I wanted to get a 4th gen CPU >> http://bit.ly/11biN8x . But the only problem is that I noticed its for a LGA 1150 socket and the motherboard is a LGA 1155 socket. Will this work for the motherboard? If not, what motherboard should I get that fits it? Or is the i7-3770k good enough? I really need help with this guys and id really appreciate it. Thank you!

P.s. If you're wondering what kind of pc I was gonna build it was for like work and extreme gaming!

nice one bro-dear...LOL... a good acceptable example... why bother and fight you British and American when the one who lay down the criticism is an Indian who happen to know English language or perhaps an Idiot who loves to do the wordplay in the middle of the intel sockets... LOL again... wheeew bad english, my bad... bye

'Whom', not 'who.'

People in glass houses...

I did not see anyone else post this, but from what I have read the 1150 socket on average consumes less power than the 1155 socket:

4770k vs 3770k
http://cpuboss.com/cpus/Intel-Core-i7-4770K-vs-Intel-Core-i7-3770K

shows 4770k can save you money on your power bill each month (typical power usage: 68.25W vs 114.98W), and if you are building more than one system for your home, it can add up to a lot of money saved fast.

which doesn't make sense as further down the page it states 3770k TDP = 77W and 4770k TDP=84W.

Personally I find my Xeon (effectively a stock clocked I7-3770k) uses very little power.

oops ... I was googling for usage of "earn" and landed up here ... thanks!
psst Witchdoctor is Googling the correct usage? :)

THG articles on PC's and components has saved me from making bad choices on builds in the past 14 years. The insight, up-to-date technical data, pros-cons, etc. are always great reads. I recently started to read the forums about similar items and that info has been very helpful also.

While I understand being slighted/insulted about how we say things brings out the fight in us, please leave those comments out. It only detracts from what others want here...hardware insight/info. Out of 30 comments, only 10 were 'tech' in nature.

I'd like to keep seeing the tech input for people who need help/info like me from the ones who are up on computers like you. I'm after the 'tech' stuff here on THG no matter how it is said. Thanks.

I really get fed up with people like you that ignore the question & think their tops for the English word. Have you ever stopped to think that it might have been a spell checker that put it in automatically (iphone is famous for it) or that he might be from a foreign country, and can speak better English then you can his, Think before you type, or better still don’t bother answering.

The discrepancy in power consumption is the location of the voltage regulators. Haswell has voltage regulators on die while Ivy Bridge does not. This also explains why Ivy Bridge usually overclocks better. Haswell great for mobile, Ivy Bridge great for desktop overclocking. Here's a quick google result article I just found that discusses this: http://www.extremetech.com/computing/157337-the-haswell-paradox-the-best-cpu-in-the-world-unless-youre-a-pc-enthusiast
