LGA 1151 processor on a LGA 1150 motherboard

I'm currently looking to upgrade my actual CPU, a Intel i5-4690K @ 3.50GHz to a i7. Are the i7 processors that are LGA 1151 compatible with my motherboard (MSI Z97 GAMING 5) that's LGA 1150?

No. Pins, thats why its 775 (775 pins in socket), 1150 (1150) , you get the point.
Also 1151 uses DDR4.
