Question LGA 1151 R2.0 ram compatibility?

I have a pair of GSkill Aegis 2133 8G ram on my current system and I am thinking about upgrading to an i5 9400F. But of course I will be changing my mobo in the process because I have an H110 right now. Thinking about buying ASUS Prime H310M-E but I can't seem to find my ram in the QVL list of that motherboard. Will the new motherboard support the ram I have?

Maybe, maybe not. Not all memory has been tested so even though it may not be on the QVL there's still a good chance it will work.

Make sure the BIOS is up to date on that motherboard or the 9400F won't work on it, also FYI it does require a dedicated GPU for you to get a display since the 9400F has no iGPU.

Supported memory: DDR4-2666

QVL (Qualified Vendor Lists) show examples of what works and are not all inclusive.

DDR4-2133MHz is too slow and will detract from performance.

Given that 2133MHz is the standard speed for DDR4 it will almost certainly work. The QVL list becomes more important as you try to run higher speed RAM.
