I need to find a LGA 1156 Motherboard with a Floppy Connector that is under at least $55. Any suggestions? Im am planning to make a DELL Sleeper PC and I dont want things that are just there for decoration.

Solution
Floppy support was removed for Socket 1156 as it was first with a PCH instead of the previous ICH10. As many industrial machines run off of floppies or use ISA cards, newer boards with extra super I/O controllers or bridges to ISA slots continued to be made, but industrial motherboards tend to be rather expensive. However if you find a board with an ISA slot you could try an old ISA super I/O card intended for a 386 or 486. Every one of those needed such a card because there was no onboard support for floppy or IDE drives back then--just be sure not to get a VLB one.

It's too bad ATAPI support was removed back with ICH9 because one floppy drive--the SuperDisk LS-120, plugged right into IDE. Or an IDE Zip drive would also...

I'm going to use the Floppy Drive as a internal component and the Case is a Old Grey DELL OptiPlex GX270.

I'm fairly certain that by the time socket 1156 motherboards were coming out. Floppy Drive Controllers had been completely removed. I tried looking for SATA adapters or PCI/PCIE controller cards, but I couldn't find any (just 40-pin IDE to PCI/PCIE).

Sorry I couldn't be more help.

I've searched through eBay and found only one LGA 1156 Motherboard with a Floppy Connector. The MB didn't fit my needs and so I continued searching. I might have to start searching for adapters or just find the part that completely covers up the slot where you would normally find the Floppy Drive, however I can't seem to find that one part on eBay so I am not sure what to do.

You could try one of those with a IDE-to-SATA adapter. Or they also came in SCSI variants so you could get a PCI SCSI card.

Clearly, the problem is the case isn't old enough. One with 5 1/4" floppies would let you put slotload Blu-ray burners behind the cool latching levers.

Not sure why you would want a floppy drive anyway these days with the relatively paltry capacity of floppy disks.

USB pen drives offer much higher capacities and will work on any motherboard -- and booting from a pen drive is easy when you need to.

You would have a much wider choice of motherboards to choose from if you drop your insistence of having one with a floppy controller. You are just making life difficult for yourself.

Alright, since I've found some adapters for IDE, I think a Zip Drive will do just fine. Thanks for the response 😀
