LGA115x to LGA775 heatsink fan mod (Question).

Hello,

As stated in the title, my main concern is whether it is possible for me to mod my LGA115x cooler onto my LGA775 motherboard seeming that I accidentally bought Be Quiet! Pure Rock Slim from someone on the online marketplace not knowing that it would not fit my motherboard (though I checked several sites on the Net saying otherwise).

My plan is to use a custom backplate that can be bought on eBay similar to the link below;

And here is a picture of my cooler;

So again, my question is, is it possible to do so if I get rid of the push-pin fasteners on the cooler bracket and replace it with screws and washers together with a backplate on the back? If possible, will the cooler fit tightly to my processor if I mod it this way?

Thank you for your time.

So it is possible. Thank you so much for the reply and also the suggestion. Unfortunately, the suggested item is considered too pricey for me. But, I will try to manage some other way. Again, thank you. Really appreciate that.
