Actually, these are not Lian-Li's first steel cases. They've had K-series cases for years. They just weren't very popular. Now they've retired all of their old K-series designs and are releasing the ones in this article.

I have purchased and used all aluminum cases from Lian-Li. These steel case has a special finish and makes me want to buy one!! These new design delivers a sense of alien technology without stating it any were in the model names.

I have a hard time calling a $100 case "low-budget".

Had several of these from about 1990 to 2002. They were white though.

The price for the K5's are about right but the K6 definitely seem overpriced. I could be wrong but they seem way too basic for the price. Maybe the quality is outstanding or something but too many competitors out there offering more. I would hope at the $100 range they would be using 140mm fans instead of 120mm. The market is already pretty flooded with ~$100 cases with varying features but maybe people will buy them for the name.
