I have a Windows 2000 Server Running Terminal Server License Manager, a
Windows 2000 Server running Terminal Server in Application mode.

I am licensed for 15 Terminal Server Client Access Licenses.

Over the past 2 years the client machines which required a TS Cal have been
replaced with machines running Windows XP Professional which does not require
a TS Cal.

Recently I tried to setup a workstation accessing out network via VPN for
e-mail an to access the applications running on the Terminal Server. This
workstation is runnning Microsoft WIndows XP Home edition which does require
a TS Cal, but cannot due to all available licenses are dedicated.

Out of the 15 licenses only 2 are still being used by workstations which
will be upgraded to Windows XP Proessional in 30-60 Days.

How can I reset or feeup the other 13?

Can the License Informaton in the Terminal Server License Manager be reset?

Thanks

From your problem description, it is clear that your TS CALs were
installed *before* you installed SP3 on the Licensing Server.

Such licenses are permanently issued to clients and are lost by a
fresh re-installation of the client OS, or if the client is
discarded altogether.
You will have to phone the Clearinghouse to get these TS CALs re-
issued.

SP3 included a Licensing Enhancement, which means that TS CALs
installed *after* SP3 have an expiration date of 52-89
days. Licenses that are not used (because the client does not
connect to the TS anymore) will automatically be returned to the
LS after the expiration date. .
