My fairly new 8350 is running extremely hot with an extremely mild overclock to 4.2 with a multiplier of 21, and frequency of 200. I have voltage at 1.35 on an m5a99fx r2.0. it's running on a noctua nh-d14 cpu cooler which i just (re-applied?). Under full prime 95 load it runs at a whopping 56 * on core and ~74+ on socket. Un-overclocked it runs about 47~* on socket and 36 or so on core with p95, never going anywhere above 50 on either temp anywhere.

In terms of settings, all advanced cpu stuff (cool n quiet, hpv, c6 etc) is disabled. i'm unsure what else to really do, as i'm unsure whats actually causing the issue. The cpu itself runs fine un-overclocked, of course i just want the biggest e-peen out there with a big scary 4.5 8350 (ya'know?)

Room is properly cooled, (made sure for this test - it's about 60* in here if not lower...)

As i speak the current idle temps are in fact the exact same as they are when it's not overclocked - 36 on socket and ~20 on core

my system:
asus m5a99fx r2.0
amd 8350 (black edition)
asus direct cu ii gtx 760
noctua nh-d14 with nt-h1 thermal compound
Thermaltake toughpower 750w gold rated power supply
NZXT h440
network and sound card.

Running stock case fans.

Tried re-downloading drivers to no avail...

New issue just popped up it seems, or possible clue i suppose.

While trying to open teamspeak3, i got a "Only part of ReadProcessMemory or WriteProcessMemory request was completed."

While this happened, my computer screen blacked out for a few moments, followed by a fractured looked desktop background,
(Like, almost an artifacting sort of look. the actual windows icons at the bottom of the screen were unaffected.)

As of the last day or so my HDD and memory have spiked, resulting in 100% disk usage and anywhere from 50-90% memory usage CONSTANTLY. I reran Malwarebytes and avast for possible viruses but have still found absolutely nothing...

*sigh*

I'm not sure what you mean by "re-downloading drivers", but what you need to do is use the Display driver uninstaller and then reinstall the most recent driver version for your GTX 760. Not just "re-download" and install again, you need to follow the procedure as outlined on the above link, EXACTLY as outlined. There are very specific steps that need to be followed to solve problems and just doing random things to the system, like installing even MORE drivers over the top of drivers that are already possibly screwed up isn't one of them.

What is your current BIOS version?

If you DID follow those directions, and uninstall and then reinstall as outlined, then we can move forward.

Think I found the problem... After running an extended test on my WD hard drive via their software, it found too many bad sectors, resulting in what seems to have been a full hard drive failure. Thankfully, I had really nothing of importance on the drive, but it seems I need to repossess one immediately lmao. Relieved it wasn't something else, so its kind of a 50/50 for feelings right now lmao.

Going to replace HDD and retest after that's completed - a note for anyone out there, gotta use the manufacturers software. All other HDD programs reported perfect drive status.
