12. Please tell us about the brands that you prefer to buy from them and the brands that you don't like and explain the reasons. Am partial to Lenovo - my U310 has lasted me 6 years and has been a workhorse. I also have a Lenovo ThinkPad X1 issued by my office, but I am looking for personal use. I also have a $250 credit to use on something from Lenovo. Would also consider Asus, Dell, or possibly Microsoft (Surface line).

13. What country do you live in? USA

14. Please tell us any additional information if needed. Am totally fine with refurb's. Would prefer something under 2.5lbs - the lighter the better. Would consider a 2-in-1 or tablet with Windows 10 as well. Other must haves: Core i5 or i7 or AMD Ryzen 5 or 7 CPU; 8GB RAM at a minimum; at least one USB-A port. Tell me if I should attempt to stick it out until Black Friday/Cyber Monday!!

I recently got an Ideapad S340 for my daughter and I think it will work well for what you want. It has an NVME and 2.5" SATA port so you can put any drive you want in it. It's also plenty fast for anything your wanting to do.
