Hi guys!

So I have a 16 gb usb flash drive. I wanted to install a lightweight linux distro that is persistent. I knew I could do this with Ubuntu, but this would take up too much disk space. I've done this before with Unetbootin. I already tried Puppy Linux USB but I don't like the look of Puppy Linux. So, what distro would you suggest? Note that the USB should be able to install persistent applications and save documents on the storage space of the USB. And preferrably a Debian/Ubuntu based distro with LXDE and XFCE environments. Thanks 😀

Obviously you have never actually tried to have a real portable OS on a USB drive. Regular distributions like *buntu perform terrible.

Use case is quite simple:

Keep a full installation on a USB drive that can be moved to multiple PC's.

Many specialty distrobutions, like AlphaOS and PuppyLinux exist soley for this use case.
