Like I SAID, KT333=Useless excuse for upgrade!

The only advantage to running DDR333 with DDR266 FSB is the reduction in latency. That advantage disappears when you overclock, because you then need to back the FSB/RAM ratio down to 1:1. In other words, with a DDR333 FSB, which is 166MHz, you'll have to run your memory at DDR333 also. And the ALi and SiS735 BOTH support the 166MHz FSB. So at 166MHz FSB, the 1% improvement of the KT333 is also present in the KT266A, ALi Magik1, and SiS 735.
Nicely explained (even though I didn't recieve my edjumacation from VIA) . And what of Tom's article comparing the 266a with the (then) newly released KT333? If I understand correctly, if the reviewer had installed DDR333 ram into the 266a board and oc'd it to a 166mhz fsb, the results would be identical (or, rather, within margin of error)? In that case, maybe the conclusion to that review should have been: "KT333=Useless excuse for upgrade!", as opposed to: "Compared to its direct predecessor, the VIA KT266A, our benchmark results show that the VIA KT333 is currently the fastest chipset for AMD Duron, Athlon and XP processors."
So why not recommend the SiS 745? Because it's not on a performance board yet. That's the only reason.
What about the MSI 745Ultra or the (newly?) released A7S333?
