Limited Access. Unidentified Network

I just got the D-Link Wireless N 150 Desktop PCI Adapter cause I wanted to connect to the wifi without tethering my phone to my pc.

After I installed everything, it doesn't connected to the internet. I got the limited access and unidentified network problems instead. I updated the driver and still nothing worked.

It worked when I tethered my phone, which was connected to the same wifi connection. But why not on my wireless adapter? How do I fix this?

Solution
Well go into Programs and Features and see if there is an option to uninstall the D-Link drivers you've already installed. If there is, uninstall them. Windows is usually pretty good about removing network drivers without asking you to reboot afterwards. Once you've removed the old drivers, then install the new ones.
Ok well then it's probably not getting an IP address from your router. Do you know if the network is set up for DHCP (router supplies the IP addresses) or static IP addresses?

Can you type this from an elevated command prompt:

ipconfig /all

Copy and paste the results here if you can. I assume you have your computer tethered to your phone right now?

An error occurred while renewing interface Wireless Network Connection 2 : unabl
e to contact your DHCP server. Request has timed out.
An error occurred while releasing interface Loopback Pseudo-Interface 1 : The sy
stem cannot find the file specified.

Got this after ipconfig/renew. Should I try again?

This is telling me that something about the password / SSID isn't working. Can you delete the connection and recreate it? Maybe you typed the password in incorrectly. Ipconfig is telling you that the DHCP server isn't responding to your computer. Which tells me that either their is a problem with the router (are there other devices connected to this router wirelessly?) or you don't have the correct password and the router is refusing to give your computer an IP address.

There might be four devices, including mine, connected to the router. And how do I delete it?

Ok, do this:

Start Network and Sharing Center.

In the Tasks pane, click Manage wireless networks.

Right-click the connection you want to delete, and then click Remove network.

In the Manage Wireless Networks - Warning dialog box, click OK

Once you've done this, click on the wifi icon in your System tray, find the SSID for your router and configure it again. Be doubly careful that you enter the password correctly.

The security key is the password, right?
