Limited connectivity wireless windows 7

Hello, I have a toshiba laptop with windows 7 and since I bought it I can connect to the wireless network but it goes up and down like a yoyo. I have tried changing the routers channel, putting the router on 802.11n only, disabling power management on the wireless card in the laptop. The laptop has a proper IP address and the correct gateway address. I have checked the IP4 and 6 protocols and all are set to automatically obtain an ip address and dns. Still no luck. Our net book can connect without any problems running windows xp. Any suggestions please as this is so frustrating having to disconnect & reconnect every few minutes. Thanks Helen

check for a difference in behavior when using the notebook on battery or with mainpower. It could be a missed powersaving setting.
