ayt first of all, here are my specs

Ryzen 5 5600

MSI B550-A Pro

Klevv 2x8GB 3200MHz

Windows 11 Pro 64-bit Build 22621

PNY CS2140 1TB and CS1031 500GB SSDs

So I'm using my PNY SSD M.2 NVME CS2140 in my m.2 slot 1 for PCIe Gen 4 and CS1031 in slot 2 for PCIe Gen 3

The problem is whenever I copy files from my CS2140 to somewhere else (even to its own directory just a different folder), the file transfer speed is limited to 250MBps only

While my CS1031 has normal speed when I do the same thing

Also i made 2 partition of the CS2140, 500GB for System C and 500GB for Disk D, i dont think its affect it but i kinda sus because it has boot system on C 🤷‍♂️

tldr;

copying files from

CS2140 to CS2140 = 250MBps > https://marinska.s-ul.eu/Lak5xaGo

CS2140 to CS1031 = 250MBps > https://marinska.s-ul.eu/6paAqLPr

CS1031 to CS2140 = 1.2GBps > https://marinska.s-ul.eu/1w3VwrYk

CS1031 to CS1031 = 700MBps > https://marinska.s-ul.eu/BMWJoUJv

somehow my CS2140 has limited read speed when everything is normal on CrystalDisk Mark (3400MBps Read and 3100MBps Write) > https://marinska.s-ul.eu/IXTG3Vu8

Is this because my CS2140 has a faulty hardware or there is an unusual setting I need to do or there is another issue

Thanks in advance

SSDs have limited write cycle. It means there is a limit to how times you can rewrite to it.

It does wear-leveling, meaning it has to re-adjust memory location so the least used memory is select to write to.

It also has to zero out (erase) the memory location before writing to it.

You can tell, the SSD is nearing it's limit when your computer stutters while playing video games.

That has nothing to do with the issue at hand.

I had to collate into a single image, to get a handle on it:

Is write cache enabled on both drives?
