System specs:
MSI 760GM-P34 am3+ motherboard
AMD FX 6350 cpu
EVGA bronze 600w psu
EVGA GTX 960 SSC w/ACX 2.0 2GB
8GB1600mhz DDR3 RAM

Lately I feel as if I've been getting limited performance out of my computer, especially in games like FarCry 4 and Battlefield 1, which I can hardly run even at low settings. This is strange because on Battlefield 4 I could consistently achieve 60+ fps at max settings. My computer has randomly shut off 3 or 4 times now, and Im not sure if its a heat issue because even at max capacity my CPU only reaches about 50 degrees Celsius (I run MSI afterburner in the background). Is there a chance one of my computer's components is failing?

Thanks for the help

I apologize for not having the following information ready when I first responded to your thread.

1) Your motherboard is terrible. Only four sets of MOSFETs and none of them are cooled. I wouldn't run any FX chip on that board, let alone a high model like you have.
2) Your CPU simply can't keep up with the demands of BF1. Even if you had a good motherboard, the issue would persist.

Based on information you just provided, I can say that you don't have the highest quality PSU on the market. However, it shouldn't be bad enough to cause the system to crash. I'm going to blame that on your choice of motherboard+CPU.
EVGA 600w Bronze is not enough information. What is the model of your PSU?

It's also worth noting that even the Intel Core i7 6700K is having problems with BF1. The game simply has no idea what it's doing in terms of effectively and efficiently managing CPU resources.

That said, your CPU isn't really good at gaming to begin with. It should do fine in games that mostly utilize the graphics card, but will struggle in games that use the CPU as much (or more) as the graphics card. Games that place significantly higher load on the CPU include BF1, GTA V, Far Cry 4, Cities: Skylines, etc

EVGA 600 B1 100-B1-0600-KR 80+ BRONZE 600W Is what powersupply I have. The reason I ask if there is component failure is because my friend plays Battlefield 1 at high settings at 60fps, with a similar setup. The only difference is his FX 8350 CPU.

Alright. Well thanks for the help, Ill definitely be investing in a new a new MOBO soon. What are your thoughts on the MSI 970 gaming series motherboards?

Why are you trying to improve your current rig? The fact of the matter is that AM3+ is dead.

If you already have a case, power supply, hard drive and all the other necessities, Skylake components can be had rather cheaply.

Even though it's only a dual core, the i3 6100 will run circles around any FX CPU.

I will take this into consideration, thanks
