I built my custom gaming pc back in 2014, and the line out jack has never worked. I bought my really nice sennhesiers to use with it.

I've updated all of my realtek drivers, audio drivers, (even updated BIOS)
Set as default device, I've even repurposed every jack to "headphones" mode, but to no avail.
Using realtek HD Audio Manger.

Specs:
Gigabyte GA-970-MS3P
Radeon R9 200 Series
AMD FX Eight Core
Corsair Carbide Series SPEC-02

Windows 10 upgraded from Windows 8

Thanks!

I do have it enabled. Is there anything more I can do?

Hey,
1) the audio is on the BIOS else it would not be detected in Windows.

2) so yeah, sounds like audio hardware issue. I suggest:

a) disable audio in the BIOS, and
b) use a sound card (what have you been using since 2014?)

update. obviously you have a sound card..

Onboard sound is okay, but since most sound cards now are similar or better why are you trying to get onboard working?

If you want better audio, then invest in a sound card. Creative has a few nice ones but make sure you have outputs for both headphones and speakers.

*DAC* (do not use)
The best headphone experience uses an external DAC to isolate motherboard noise, but if onboard audio fails you'll have no source. thus, use a sound card. or sound card + DAC but that's expensive.
