Linked Multiforms in Champions...

I have a character who I wanted to be able to turn into 5 small animals
at once. They come together to form the main character.

Would it be legal in the rules to buy 5 small multiforms and simply
link them? So instead of turning into any one of the five, I turn into
all five at once. All five would be much lower point cost then the main
form of course.

Sounds more like one Multiform that has Duplication with the Cannot
Recombine limitation.

But how? If you but Duplication then the original "Combined" character
still exists. If you have the original character Mulktiform, then all
the original character's duplicates couldn't exist, since no one his
there with the duplicaton power any more.

Is there any reason the linking wouldn't be legal? After all, if you
has to Energy Blasts you could link them to both go off at once. Why
not to Multiforms?

I don't know if this is the best way to do it, but so far it's the ONLY
way I can find to do the specific thing I need. Make 5 smaller guys who
turn into one bigger one.

Can you be specific? I want one big guy to turn into 5 smaller guys.

I wrote up the main "Combined" form as the amin character

Then I'd have to write up a multiform, making the first of the smaller
5 guys. That multiform guy has 4 duplicates which are always on maybe?

Problem is all the 5 little guys are about the same value, it makes it
hard to make one guy have 4 equal value duplicates.

No. The "legal" way to do that character is Duplication.

Multiform + Duplication only usable in smaller form.

Use the Cannot Recombine disad, it's only -0 because it also has some
advantages.

Take the duplicate with the most points, not counting duplications.

This one buys duplication, at +10 for four duplicates and with the
Altered Duplicates advantage, (+1/4 to +1, depending on how much varies).
(How much does this cost? This is one of the places in HERO where you
get to have fun with algebra.)

As it is, duplication defaults to making a set of totally identical
duplicates.

It isn't hard at all. Just buy as many character points for the
duplicates as the original has, independant of the points you spend on
the duplication.
