Question Lint or strong springs?

I have a used Toshiba laptop ( C875-S7304 ) with keys that need to be pressed with more than a light touch. Is it supposed to be like this? I manage to get a toothpick under some keys, without popping the keys, without finding big dust bunnies. Really don't want to pop keys and have some risk of breaking them.

I just looked up it's specs;

and for something that's a decade or so old, you might want to consider replacing the laptop's keyboard provided you're not able to underneath the key switch mechanism.
