Linux messing up Bios?

Hey so I installed crunchbang, based on Debian. Before I had windows 7, I was able to boot off thumb drives into Hirens on a FAT32 format. Now after I installed this linux package, bios does not recognize the usb stick, and yes I have repeatedly changed the boot options. Any help on whether GRUB has messed with this, or if this should not be happening. Thanks!

Try to reset your bios(to factory settings) ,If doesn't help sen me ur mobo model and bios model and version
