[SOLVED] Linux Mint, how to decrease screen brightness?

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:apandada1/brightness-controller

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get install brightness-controller

I did that it is installed, but notthing happens when I adjust the brightness.
 
Solution
In the lower right hand corner of your screen there should be a power icon that looks like a battery. If you click on it it gives you the option to control the brightness. Also there should be a key or more likely a combination of keys on your keyboard that controls brightness. For instance on my Lenovo up is the combined function and home buttons, and down is function and end buttons.
