I want to install a Cooler Master LC240E on an older HP computer (Pegatron 2AD5 motherboard). In order to do so I will need to remove the OEM Backplate... The backplate is also the mount for the retaining clip on the CPU, IS the Waterblock and pump mounting bracket enough to secure the CPU in place or is it an actual necessity to have the retaining clip? Would it be better to find some standoffs the right height and use them to mount to the existing heatsink mounting holes instead of trying to remove the factory backplate?

that did not at all answer what I asked. Not trying to be rude, but I dont need advice, I need an answer. I already know the mounting plate for the cooler is the correct hole spacing. that is not the problem. I need an answer to what I asked.
