Hello, I would like to ask for assistance as I am inexperienced when it comes to liquid cooling. I would like answers from users who know what they are talking about. Basically experienced users only is what I mean. I currently run an AMD FX 8320 processor with a Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition, ASUS Pro 2.0 Motherboard (My apologies as I do not know the exact name), Corsair Vengeance 1866 which is 16 Gigabytes of RAM. 1050 WATT Corsair Power Supply and the Cooler Master V8 Air Cooler. My Tower is the Cooler Master Cosmos II.

I am planning on switching to liquid cooling for my system as I am not in the coolest conditions. I need a little input on what I should buy. I would like something reliable and will stand the test of time. I would also like to know what liquid to use with it. Something that will keep my system cool in a hot place. If you would help me select the right cooling system to buy, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks!

I mentioned that my tower/case was the Cooler Master Cosmos II. Apologies for misuse of wording. Id like to water block anything ideal. As for what I would like to spend, 200-400 ideally, but ill spend more if I need to.

I am so sorry, I looked right over the case name at the end of paragraph 1... My bad, that is a great case though.

Do you plan on changing the GPU at all? If you are planning on changing the GPU with in the next 6-9 months do not water block the current one cause you will loose money on having to buy 2 different GPU blocks in the same year, and they can get expensive.

What I would do is start with this kit fro EK, and you have all the ability to expand in the future with multiple blocks. I pick a kit instead of picking out each piece as you will have everything ready and not worry about if what you got works with all the parts. Once you are used to working with water cooling, you can start to convert this kit into a custom loop and that is the beauty of it.

EK makes some of the best liquid cooling components in the industry and that is why Asus uses EK with all their Ares level cards. Plus if you look at many of the custom loops out there, they will contain many EK parts.

I selected a 360 RAD because your case can handle this RAD and it has so much going for it with expanding to more then 1 block.

This is the kit...

EK X360 Complete Triple 120mm Liquid Cooling Kit (EK-KIT X360) it is priced at $399.99 and has everything you need to get started. Now the GPU blocks are around $139.99 and thats why I would hold off until you are sure you don't plan on switching your GPU.

I hope that helps some.

I do plan on switching to the R9 290X or even the R9 390X when it is released, so I appreciate that you were letting me know about waiting for the gpu block. I appreciate your help though, thanks for the input as it was exactly what I needed!

ATI make fantastic cards, and I wish you luck with building a nice loop system.

Also if the R9 295x2 drops below $700 by the time you are looking to switch cards just get that one, because $$$ per power outlook in a few months it will still be the champ for GPU processing. Plus right now the XFX R9 295x2 is going for $909.99 on newegg.com I believe, so who knows in the next few months maybe the Asus version will drop to around $700... And that means at that price point getting a R9 290x and water block will make no sense since the 295x2 is an 8gig card and will be priced about the same, but if the trade articles are right about the 390x, then it will be a close call....

Take pics and post... :D AND build on...

I would definitely agree, as since I have had my 7970 GHz I have loved it. I believe that it is time for a change though since the newer generations are far better. Would it be worth getting a water block for the 295X2 since it is a liquid cooled card if by some chance I were to get that? Also I will be sure to post pictures once it is complete!
